This cake was part of an Alice in the Wonderland themed dessert table we did for a 1st birthday party.
The words can not describe how grand this cake was. When Maxine contacted us to make a first birthday cake in Alice in the Wonderland theme, she wanted colorful, whimsical, extravagant and fun.
The structure of the cake was a Topsy turvy , 5 tiers and weighted around 80 lb.This cake was one of the biggest first birthday cakes we made.
The cake board was decorated in black and white checker board ( our favorite) , green sugar moss, red mushroom and white daisies.
The bottom tier was decorated in hot pink and turquoise diamonds and oversize white bow. An array of playing cards were thrown there as well as big open pink peony, golden sugar clock. Next tier was decorated in a piano pattern, had sugar cup and a saucer, golden butterflies flying off the cake. Following tier was covered in light pink fondant, “Lily” spelled out in gold, little biscuit with a sign “eat me “, polka dots and little hearts, potion bottle with a sign “drink me”, orange open rose were decorations for this tier . Pink and purple striped tier were representing a famous cat, golden, sparkly number one attached to the cake ,and of course the top tier was a tea pot. The tea pot included light blue fondant flowers, decorated in brushed embroidery, golden sprout and a handle.
The matching dessert table included french macarons and cake pops in the same color and party theme.
Happy Birthday Lily!
