Neverland Let Them Eat Cake competition 2017.
Each year we take a part in the biggest cake competition in Philadelphia. This year the theme was “Child Fantasy and Fun”. We took our inspiration from Peter Pan and Neverland. What do kids fantasize about? Childhood is something magic and something that is not replaceable. We all dream to grow up but in reality we stay kids our all life, some less some more. Reality in our shop we are still children and love listening to Disney songs while decorate cakes. We came up with idea “Neverland” for our cake. The cake was sculpted in a shape of the mountain, with cascading waterfall made out of isomalt. We have included few parts of the island: Skull Rock, Mermaid Lagoon, Crocodile Creek and Indian Village. All it takes faith trust and little bit of pixie dust. We made cute little figurines of Peter Pan, Tinker bell, lost boys, Captain Hook, Mr. Smee, crocodile, Indians and their Teepee. The water was made out of buttercream and we made a replica of my favorite Jolly Roger, pirate ship.
We all dressed up in “Take me to Neverland” shirts and “Lost boys” shirts. You can see pictures of our beautiful team who worked on this awesome cake.
The cake flavor we made was funfetti with marshmallow and chocolate buttercream.
It was a fun event and we had a lot of fun and were honored to be a part of the great charity.
Unfortunately we did not win this time but it’s totally okay, it’s always great to be a part of this event.
A special thanks to our awesome friend Lauren of The Cotton Candy Confectionery, who jumped right on board when I called her with my crazy last minute request. Thank you my new sugar friend! If you ever need extra fun at your event give her a call for Cotton Candy.
